Job summary

Pennoni Associates is seeking a Construction Inspector -NJDCA Certified to work at various locations in South/Central NJ, performing field QA, inspecting construction work and conducting materials testing.

Requirements include NJDCA Certification in Structural Welding, Structural Steel and Bolting, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing or Earthwork; a High School Diploma; and willingness to work in the field with overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of related experience.
• NJDCA Certification in Structural Welding, Structural Steel and Bolting, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Earthwork.
• Windows-based software proficiency (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• High School Diploma.
• Willing to work in the field performing some physical work.
• Honest, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work at heights for steel/welding inspection.
• Able to work construction hours, including overtime.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work at sites as a QA representative and perform materials testing.
• Monitor compliance with drawings and specifications for concrete, masonry, steel, fireproofing, soils or foundations.
• Perform field testing of plastics, grout, mortar, fireproofing and nondestructive weld testing.
• Read drawings, write reports, create sketches, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients.
