Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification is required.
• Special education certification per NJ rules is required for IEP services.
• Non-certified individuals cannot fulfill the special education Teacher of Record role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and the child study team to develop plans for student capacity.
• Differentiate and scaffold to progress toward IEP goals.
• Utilize online applications to enhance learning.
• Design and implement curriculum and assessments aligned to standards.
• Use data to refine curriculum and inform instruction.
• Participate in weekly coaching and strive to improve practice.
• Provide consistent behavior rewards or consequences.
• Employ multiple engagement strategies and check for understanding.
• Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
