Job summary

YMCA of Youngstown seeks a NinjaZone Coach to lead after-school NinjaZone classes and promote the YMCA values through coaching sessions. The role emphasizes safety, engagement, and creating a welcoming environment for youth athletes.

The coach will plan and implement the NinjaZone curriculum, guide participants, and collaborate with staff to ensure program quality and participation on weekdays after 3pm and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Passion for movement, fitness, or sports training.
• Commitment to the season and availability on evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrate a fun, energetic, and positive team-player attitude championing the Y’s values.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfortable using computers to support program operations.
• Completion of mandatory trainings and YMCA Leader Certification.
• Attain and maintain program-specific certifications and training.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the NinjaZone curriculum.
• Prepares program spaces and equipment; communicates needs to supervisors.
• Teaches movement, coordination, balance, and strength-building in a fun setting.
• Fosters belonging and YMCA values; supports program participation.
• Ensures safety and compliance with YMCA policies.
• Maintains clean, organized spaces and reports repairs.
• Collaborates with staff to support YMCA programs and mission.
• Attends required trainings and maintains certifications.
