Job summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Trenton is seeking a Residential Counselor for a 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM shift at the Ancora, NJ site. Under supervision, the counselor supports residents with daily living skills, program activities, and safety, contributing to individualized recovery plans.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and relevant experience; licenses such as LPN/RN or a degree in mental health are listed options. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus four years of related work or life experience (experience clearly documented).
• LPN license plus two years of related work or life experience.
• Combination of college and related experience totaling four years.
• RN license.
• Bachelor's degree in mental health or related human services field.

Responsibilities

• Provides support services including daily living skills, life skill development, and transportation.
• Assist residents in weekly program schedules and activities.
• Maintain safety and security of residents and facility.
• Develop and implement Individual Recovery Plans for residents.
• Communicate assessments and observations to treatment team.
• Supervise residents in self-medication and maintain documentation.
