Job summary

Penn Medicine at Lancaster General Hospital seeks a Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice to provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, grow through ANA-aligned standards, and support care for a wide range of ages.

The role requires RN licensure in PA, BSN preferred, NCLEX within 60 days, and entry into Penn Medicine’s Nurse Residency Program. This is a full-time night position with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required by PA Board of Nursing.
• BSN preferred; Magnet positions may require BSN or higher within stated timelines.
• NCLEX must be sat within 60 days of starting in RN role.
• Graduate RN may practice only under supervision with a temporary permit.
• All Clinical Nurse 1 RNs must successfully complete the Nurse Residency Program.
• CPR Certification - AHA Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability per ANA nursing standards.
• Provide direct care to patients from infancy to elderly with diverse needs.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to coordinate care across the continuum.
