Job summary

Progressive Life Center, Inc. (PLC) provides culturally sensitive human services to children, youth and families in DC and surrounding Maryland. The Semi-Independent Living program supports 18–21 year olds in transition from foster care, with 24/7 supervision and residential facilities across scattered sites.

The position focuses on safety checks, daily inspections, transportation assistance, and strong communication with leadership to ensure youth wellbeing and program integrity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with four years of proven work with abused/neglected at-risk youth.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication with diverse youth.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and ability to travel in the DC metro area.
• Knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
• NTU TM Service Delivery Model certificate within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety checks and inspections of residences.
• Provide emergency support services as needed.
• Offer transportation assistance as required.
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Director.
• Maintain safety inspection logs and report concerns.
• Document violations and incidents within 24–48 hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent with four years of experience with at-risk youth

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field

Effective oral and written communication with diverse youth

CPR/First Aid certification

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in the DC metro area

Knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office Suite
