Job summary

US Foods, located in Lexington, SC, is hiring a Yard Jockey with a base rate of $27.15 per hour. The role requires operating trailers, coordinating with dispatch, and preparing for daily deliveries. Schedule is Sunday–Thursday, 7:00 pm start, 8–10 hours per day, with overtime possible based on business needs.

Candidates should be at least 21, hold a valid driver's license, and have some Non-CDL driving experience. English proficiency and ability to pass a DOT physical are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have valid driver’s license issued by state of residence.
• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations.
• Must be able to pass DOT physical.
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments.
• Keep assigned equipment coupled.
• Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor.
• Load, unload or merge loads between environments.
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers.
• Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets.
• Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse.
• Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day’s deliveries.
• Work with mechanics nightly.
• Must attend all required company meetings.
• All other duties as assigned.
