Job summary

Kloeckner Metals is seeking a yard switcher to safely move trailers to loading docks and designated yard locations. A Class A CDL is required, with at least six months of truck driving experience. The role runs on 3rd shift hours from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include moving axles and assisting with maintenance and material handling, while upholding strict safety and quality standards. Teamwork and adherence to procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class A CDL license.
• At least six months of truck driving experience.
• Ability to move front and rear axles and brake components.
• Forklift experience required.
• Operate overhead hoists or lift trucks for setups.
• Exercise sound judgment in problem situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard switcher to move trailers to and from loading docks and yard locations.
• Read schedules and move trucks to meet delivery requirements.
• Follow all safety rules and site procedures.
• Conduct quality checks and adhere to control plans.
• Report accidents or near-misses immediately.
• Maintain clean and safe work area at all times.
• May assist with maintenance and material handling of axles.
