Job summary

Advocate Health’s Charlotte Emergency Department is seeking a part-time behavioral health associate for the 7p-7a weekend schedule. 24 hours per week, pay range $19.80–$29.70 per hour, with CPI and BLS requirements and a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor's preferred).

The role involves therapeutic interactions, group activities, and maintaining patient dignity and safety while collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Observes, reports, and documents signs and symptoms or changes in patient behavior to charge nurse.
• Interacts with patients therapeutically.
• Assists, initiates, and participates in social and recreational activities, group therapy, patient teaching groups, and other group activities.
• Uses CPI techniques appropriately.
• Makes rounds on assigned patients at least every half hour during shift.
• Responds to patients with empathy, maintaining their dignity and confidentiality.
• Participates in unit-based process improvement activities.
• Participates in unit-based committees.
• All mandatory training as per facility policy.
