Job summary

UCI Health, part of the University of California, Irvine Health system, seeks an experienced House Supervisor to oversee nursing operations in the Neuropsychiatric Hospital during off hours and weekends. You will direct patient care activities, manage staff, and uphold care standards across units.

The role requires strong supervisory skills, familiarity with JCAHO standards, and a California RN license with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in direct patient care in a Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience working in an inpatient setting, preferably in Psychiatry.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Complete understanding of acuity levels for all patient populations.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional.
• Preferred: RN certification in Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Manage Human Resources and direct patient care activities across units.
• Monitor bed placement and coordinate patient flow.
• Provide clinical support to various units and participate in performance improvement projects.
• Supervise nursing staff during off-hours and weekends.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
