Job summary

AdventHealth in DADE CITY, FL is seeking a part-time patient care technician to prepare rooms, welcome admissions, and assist with daily living, reporting to nursing staff. This role emphasizes patient safety, accurate documentation in the EMR, and compassionate support.

You will work night-weekend shifts, engage with patients and families, maintain a clean environment, and participate in hourly rounding. Requirements include BLS, CPCT/CNA/EMT certification, and High School or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CPCT/A or CNA or EMT certification required.
• Ability to learn EMR and basic computer tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for new admissions, including setting up items and vital sign equipment.
• Welcomes admissions and orients patients to rooms.
• Transfers patients between beds with assistance.
• Ensures patient safety by following proper lifting techniques.
• Documents care, intake/output, vital signs, and weights in policy.
• Collects and labels specimens at bedside and sends to lab.
• Reports changes in patient status promptly to nursing staff.
• Acts as liaison between patients, families, staff and medical personnel.
• Maintains accurate patient records and unit census.
