Job summary

The position is tied to the NY HELPS program, with potential temporary appointment and eventual conversion to permanent status. Minimum qualifications include one year of healthcare experience or completion of a Medical Assistant program; EMR experience and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include either one year of health-care clinical/clerical experience or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred qualifications include EMR experience, BLS/Heart Saver certification, and current Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as patient screening, vital signs, EKG, and specimen collection.
• Assist physicians and staff during examinations and procedures.
• Greet and direct patients, manage patient flow, and document in EHRs.
• Maintain patient room cleanliness and prepare exam rooms and supplies.
• Answer phones, route messages, and manage routine communications.
