Job summary

Berger Health System is seeking a part-time Night shift Virtual Patient Observation Technician (Casual) to monitor patients and provide oversight under RN and Virtual Health Leadership. The role involves redirecting patients via a digital two-way audio device, rapid escalation to nursing staff, and contributing to patient safety initiatives in a high-reliability environment.

The position emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency, with responsibilities that may change as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS to be completed in orientation.
• Customer service skills required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to focus on a task for an extended period of time.
• Ability to analyze, synthesize patient care information to formulate patient specific care recommendations.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in healthcare or service-related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains visual observation of patients at all times.
• Verbal redirects patient over digital 2-way audio device in patient room.
• Summons nursing staff immediately if patient requires assistance.
• Participates in identifying and reporting patient safety issues.
• Adheres to safety rules and maintains safe work practices in a High Reliability Organization (HRO).
