Job summary

Phoenix Children’s is seeking experienced Vascular Access Nurses for full-time (0.9FTE) and part-time (0.6FTE) night shift opportunities at our Thomas Campus. The role covers vascular access across hospital and outpatient clinics, including PICC insertions and ultrasound-guided IVs.

Qualifications

• Experience in Vascular Access, ICU, CVICU, Emergency or Trauma nursing.
• Ultrasound-guided IV experience is required.
• Pediatric experience is preferred.
• This role involves vascular access services across the hospital and outpatient clinics including PICC insertions and blood draws.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessment of patient conditions to determine initial level of care per policy.
• Continually evaluates patient responses and documents progress for timely communication with team and families.
• Contributes to team efforts to ensure compliance with medication, storage and documentation standards.
• Provides unit orientation and process guidance to patients and family members.
• Supervises care activities and provides feedback to ensure safety and performance.
• Collaborates with the care team and families to implement plan of care and participates in rounds.
• Mentors students and new employees through instruction and knowledge sharing.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
