Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Transit Driver in West Hartford, CT. You will transport loaded and empty trailers, including doubles, from GFS distribution centers, often on night routes with daily home time.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 6–7 pm start, pay per day and per trip. Requires 2+ years of Class A experience and a doubles endorsement; no auto restriction. Benefits and safety program provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with Class A CDL.
• Doubles (T) endorsement required.
• No Auto Restriction; able to operate a 10-speed transmission.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• DOT drug test and background check required.
• Clean driving record; per DOT and Gordon Food Service standards.

Responsibilities

• Transport loaded and empty trailers, singles or doubles, between GFS Distribution Centers or point-to-point via night transit.
• Night shifts mean you\'ll be home every day with no touch freight.
• Follow company safety policies and DOT regulations while delivering cargo.

CDL A Transit Driver - Doubles Endorsement Required

Location: 20 Hurlbut Street West Hartford, CT

Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A.

Must have prior experience operating double trailers.

No Auto Restriction; must be able to operate a 10 speed transmission.

In this position, you will be transporting loaded and empty trailers, singles or doubles, from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit. Schedule: Sunday - Thursday Start times range between 6-7pm and work until finished

Pay: Component Pay: Pay per day and per trip

Drivers are averaging $42 per hour!!

Does this look like you?

• At least 21 years of age


• Class A CDL License


• Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A


• Doubles (T) endorsement required


• Must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs (connecting trailers)


• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)


• Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check


• Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards


• You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
