Job summary

Northwest Healthcare in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Monitor Technician to continuously surveil telemetry monitors, interpret rhythms, and document findings to support patient safety. You will promptly alert nursing staff to rhythm changes and ensure equipment is properly configured and functional.

The role requires completing a telemetry/EKG interpretation course and 0–2 years of clerical/clinical hospital experience, with BCLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG rhythms and identifying arrhythmias.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical setting.

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes and interprets telemetry monitors and records rhythm strips.
• Notifies nurses or licensed personnel of rhythm changes, including potentially life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Maintains communication with peers, staff, physicians and leaders for care coordination.
• Troubleshoots monitoring equipment and escalates issues as directed.
• Organizes and tracks monitoring equipment during shifts for admissions, transfers, discharges.
• Ensures accurate lead placement and electrode configuration for telemetry monitoring.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
