Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents according to policies and standards.
• Supervise nursing staff during shifts to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Administer medications accurately and monitor effects and adverse reactions.
• Assess residents’ needs and communicate changes to physicians, residents, families, and approved parties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor laboratory results, physician orders, treatment requests, and care concerns.
• Ensure timely and accurate EMR documentation.
• Coordinate care to support person-centered plans, including sleep preferences and activities.
• Observe residents for distress or behavioral changes and intervene as needed.
• Respond to inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Promote a compassionate, resident-focused environment for residents, families, and staff.
• Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance monitoring.

Job description

The RN Supervisor is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents while overseeing and coordinating nursing services during the assigned shift. This role ensures high-quality resident care, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective leadership of the nursing team in a long-term care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
• Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Administer medications accurately and safely, monitoring residents for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
• Assess residents' needs and communicate changes in condition to physicians, residents, families, and other approved parties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor and follow up on critical laboratory results, physician orders, treatment requests, and resident care concerns.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate care services to support each resident's person-centered plan of care, including sleep preferences, social engagement, and individualized activities.
• Observe residents for signs of emotional distress, behavioral changes, or decreased social interaction and intervene as appropriate.
• Respond to and triage telephone calls, inquiries, and resident concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Promote a positive, compassionate, and resident-focused environment for residents, families, and staff.
• Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance monitoring as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting.
• Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
