Job summary

Village Super Market, Inc. is seeking a Night Store Manager for Springfield, NJ to oversee end-of-day operations. The role includes supervising staff, managing cash, securing the premises, and ensuring a clean, organized store at close.

You will conduct nightly audits, prepare end-of-day reports, and balance transactions to ensure readiness for the next business day. The position requires 2–3 years of managerial retail experience, with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably within the retail industry.
• Proven track record of effectively managing staff and ensuring operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated experience in handling cash.
• Experience with inventory management and end-of-day audits.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of associates, providing coaching and feedback to improve performance, engagement, and retention.
• Complete all assigned tasks via task management systems in a timely manner.
• Understand and implement company standards in all departments.
• Ensure the store operates efficiently and meets sales, service, and profitability targets.
• Enforce policies related to financial, inventory, merchandising, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a safety culture for customers and associates.
• Oversee security procedures including locking doors/windows and alarm systems.
• Prepare end-of-day reports and balance financial transactions.
