Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a dedicated manager to oversee day-to-day store operations across departments in Ohio. You will lead staff, mentor team members, and drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service and a welcoming store image.

You will manage staffing, training, and performance, conduct disciplinary actions when needed, and analyze financial data to inform decisions. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and ongoing development of personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear, precise directions to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas including SDITs and hourly staff.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within store departments.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs; provides career paths and development.
• Documents disciplinary actions and makes recommendations on discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink targets.
• Models fast, friendly, exceptional customer service and promotes the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensures staff are trained in all job aspects and have completed required training.
