Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leader to plan, direct and supervise daily operations across departments. You will mentor teammates, drive sales, and uphold Meijer standards while maintaining prime shopping hours and store presentation.

You’ll empower team members through staffing, training, and career development, handle disciplinary actions when needed, and champion safe, customer-focused service to meet and exceed performance goals.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail experience required (2–3 years).
• Management experience (1 year) required.
• Rotational experience in store areas is helpful.
• Ability to communicate clear directions to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by root-cause analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial data.
• Commitment to safety and training compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations within departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; drive customer service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career paths and development; manage promotions.
• Handle disciplinary actions and performance management.
• Oversee P&L, shrink, and achievement of sales targets.
• Maintain store appearance and Meijer standards.
• Ensure safety and compliant operations; training completion.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and teammates.
