Job summary

The Sterile Instrument Technician at IHA supports procedural care by following Surgical Services, AORN, JCAHO, OSHA, and AAMI standards. You will work with decontamination, instrumentation, sterilization, and case cart building across hospital departments under SPD supervision.

This part-time night shift requires knowledge of the Sterile Processing workflow, strong attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively with OR teams to ensure safe and timely instrument readiness.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
• Should have basic working knowledge of computers.
• Should have the ability to operate computerized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination and preparation of instruments and case carts.
• Liaise between OR suites and SPD to communicate needs.
• Perform sterilizer tests and monitor biological indicators.
• Inspect instruments for damage and arrange repair as needed.
• Assemble and wrap case carts and ensure proper labeling.
