Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and a Certified Sterile Processing Certificate, plus BCLS. Knowledge of aseptic technique and instrument handling is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Instrument technician experience, 2 years or equivalent.
  • Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization principles.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes time, equipment, and supplies for OR readiness based on daily schedule.
  • Uses equipment accurately to prevent damage or loss of instruments.
  • Maintains aseptic techniques per standards of practice.
  • Manages inventory of supplies and equipment in instrument, decontamination, and sterile rooms.
  • Performs daily testing and sterilization logs; conducts load-specific biological testing as policy requires.
