Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking an Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing Department across Ambulatory Perioperative Sites. You will assist in evaluating and executing Sterile Processing functions, ensuring safe patient care and operational efficiency.

The role requires knowledge of decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization processes, plus the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with OR managers and department staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• One year of progressively responsible related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties as assigned, following SHC policies and Sterile Processing Dept. procedures.
• Operate decontamination, cleaning and sterilization equipment in accordance with SOPs.
• Support policy development and implementation aligned with department goals.
• Oversee information, records and reports for the assigned department.
• Assist in evaluating staffing requirements and ensure qualified personnel are available.
• Support the manager in hiring, merit increases and promotions.
• Mentor supervisory staff and coach frontline personnel.
• Engage in lean learning and coaching with manager and director.
