Job summary
Mars Incorporated in Illinois seeks a Stationary Engineer for Pitman nights. Maintain boilers, chillers and plant utilities, troubleshoot air compressors, and respond to leaks while supporting production.
Role requires 3-phase 480V electrical expertise, refrigeration gauges, and boiler license. Solder/braze skills and water-pipe work are essential; Mars offers a sign-on bonus and learning opportunities through Mars University.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred in a technical field (science, chemistry, safety or related sciences).
- May substitute degree with 3+ years of technical experience in Safety or related fields.
- Site Facilities Engineer to support HVAC and plant utilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain boilers and chillers for the entire plant.
- Troubleshoot and balance air compressors.
- First response on factory leaks.
- Install and support new equipment.
- Solder and braze as needed.
- Provide secondary support for production needs.
- Operate 3-phase 480-volt systems.
- Use refrigeration gauges.
- Obtain Illinois boiler license and refrigerant handling certification.
- Thread and install water pipes.
- Maintain air handlers and familiarization with Trane systems.
