Job summary

Cust-O-Fab on-site in Sand Springs, OK is seeking experienced Welders to join our manufacturing team. Candidates read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and operate welding equipment to produce quality welds for heat exchangers and tanks. Safety, accuracy, and adherence to procedures are essential.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment is required. High School/GED is preferred; prior welding in industrial settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Welding experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, weld procedures, and weld symbols.
• Ability to successfully complete required weld qualification testing and maintain applicable code weld stamps.
• Ability to perform weld repairs, including grinding and air carbon arc gouging.
• Ability to follow welding procedures and produce welds that meet applicable quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while working on the shop floor.
• Read and interpret blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, weld procedures, and weld symbols.
• Set up and operate welding equipment and perform required welding processes.
• Weld components for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and towers according to approved procedures and applicable codes.
• Maintain a weld X-ray repair rate of less than 5%.
• Inspect welds and perform necessary grinding, gouging, and repairs to correct weld defects.
• Work with Quality Control to ensure welds meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain required weld qualifications and code weld stamps.
• Complete assigned work within established timeframes while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
