Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking welders for our Jonesboro, ME plant. The role involves performing general welding duties to support production goals within a safety-focused environment.

You will weld on flat, curved, or vertical surfaces and set welding parameters. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and working a 2nd shift from 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must read a tape measure accurately and understand blueprints/manufacturing orders.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks daily and maintain production pace.
• Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work 8–12 hour shifts.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and operate welding equipment.
• Keep work area and tools clean and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Weld on flat, curved, or vertical surfaces.
• Set welding machine parameters: gas, volts, amps, wire speed.
• Weld in various positions, including overhead.
• Make minor adjustments to welding equipment as needed.
• Load raw materials into welding machines and prepare pieces.
• Remove finished work and scrap from machines.
• File, grind, or deburr edges as required.
• Hammer out bent/warped spots in metal.
• Sort and tag finished work, transport materials as needed.
• Verify conformance to specifications with straight edge or template.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Perform other routine duties as needed.
