Job summary

Lehigh County Authority is seeking a Water/wastewater Treatment Plant Operator for the night shift in Allentown, PA. You will operate and monitor treatment systems and support training to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a PA Class A Water or Class A Wastewater certification, 2+ years of facility experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. Comprehensive benefits include health coverage and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating or supporting a water or wastewater facility.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee treatment systems across water filtration and wastewater facilities.
• Monitor control systems and instrumentation, identifying malfunctions and making real-time adjustments.
• Lead and support Operator-in-Training staff, providing direction and on-the-job instruction.
• Start and regulate pumps and valves, interpret flow data, and log system readings.
• Collect and analyze process samples and add treatment chemicals to meet standards.
• Document equipment issues and coordinate maintenance with supervisors.
• Rotate between multiple treatment facilities to expand technical expertise.
