Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Vicryl Extrusion Operator for a premier manufacturing client in Athens, GA. The role involves operating extrusion equipment to produce multifilament products and performing startup/shutdown, testing, and documentation tasks.

You will contribute to Lean and Six Sigma initiatives while training new associates and ensuring safety and quality standards. The position offers a rotating shift (6:45pm–7:15am) with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
• Extrusion experience preferred.
• Ability to operate computers, electronic balances, calculators, pyrometers, and hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Able to support and communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional support teams.
• Willing to follow written procedures and meet training targets.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion and orientation equipment to produce synthetic absorbable and non-absorbable multifilament products.
• Start up, run, and shut down extrusion processes, including thread-up and doffing of production spools.
• Test products, troubleshoot processes, and ensure compliance with quality and safety guidelines.
• Maintain equipment, clean work areas, and support Lean, Six Sigma, and Maintenance Excellence initiatives.
• Train new associates and participate in shift change meetings to ensure smooth communication and timely issue resolution.
• Accurately complete required documentation and adhere to FDA and worldwide quality system requirements.
