Responsibilities

• Use independent judgment to provide clerical services to patient care units, including transcription of orders and arranging transportation and follow-up tests.
• Answering the telephone and delivering messages.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor and handle paperwork promptly.
• Order supplies as needed and verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Arrange transport for tests not offered in the hospital.
