Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is High School Diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience is required.
• Completion of course for unit secretaries and medical terminology is preferred upon hire.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and strong computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greets, directs and assists physicians, visitors, patients and staff, orienting patients to rooms as appropriate.
• Answers telephone with courteous etiquette; handles inquiries and forwards calls as needed; maintains confidentiality.
• Enters and retrieves data in patient management systems and supports use of IS applications; keeps up with system upgrades.
