Job summary

University of Miami Health System is seeking a Full-Time Unit Secretary to support an assigned unit by maintaining patient records and performing administrative tasks. The unit operates with 3 days of 12-hour night shifts, and the incumbent will contribute to a calm, productive environment and seamless patient flow within the Nursing Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and updates patients' charts and records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Greets patients and visitors, answers inquiries and directs to the appropriate staff.
• Prepares admission charts and Welcome Packets for new patients within 15 minutes of arrival.
• Ensures infection control and safety guidelines are followed and documents logs.
