Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT is seeking a Unit Secretary to coordinate patient flow on the unit and provide essential clerical support to the healthcare team.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with business school or an associate degree preferred. Certification as a Healthcare Unit Coordinator is also preferred. Night shift, weekends/holidays required, with comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Business school or Associate Degree in Business preferred.
• Certification: Certification as a Healthcare Unit Coordinator (HUC) preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow on the unit
• Process patient orders
• Prepares and disassembles patient charts
• Prepares forms and documents required for patient care
• Communicates unit related and/or patient related needs to other departments and healthcare team members
• Request and obtain supplies and equipment
• Answer phones and greeting visitors
