Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shifts in a Level I Trauma Center academic medical setting. Requires CT or compact RN license, 2+ years of RN experience, and Epic EMR proficiency. Teaching hospital background is preferred.

Position offers a three 12-hour night schedule (19:00–07:00). Travel eligibility includes a 75-mile radius constraint, with housing and licensure reimbursements available. Must complete vaccinations and be willing to work holidays.

Qualifications

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required (1.5 years with Level I Trauma or travel experience).
• Teaching hospital experience required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• 1 professional reference required.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a Level I Trauma Center academic medical facility with over 1,500 staffed beds.
• Average patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Must work Christmas holiday (12/23-12/25).
• Provide nursing care to med/surg telemetry patients including post-angiogram, post-MI, and renal failure cases.
• Royal blue scrub color required.
• RTO requests >7 days require additional approval.
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
• Previous staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with exemptions only.
• Travelers must be willing to participate in disaster/emergency response activities.
