Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position with 2+ years of experience and RRT certification. The role involves NICU and pediatric patient care, ventilator management, and airway support.

The assignment runs 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with every other weekend requirement and no on-call duties. Pediatric/neonatal transport and time-sensitive duties are part of the scope.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required.
• Current certifications: RRT, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS.
• CRT certification not accepted.
• License required if applicable.
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including CPAP, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators, and umbilical/capillary blood gases.
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning.
• Experience caring for patients with RDS, BPD, RSV, and other neonatal/pediatric respiratory conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work in the NICU as part of the respiratory/neuro diagnostics team.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend required.
• No call requirements.
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed.
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients including high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports.
• Perform ventilator management, chest physiotherapy, and medication delivery via nebulizer and MDI.
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission.
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week.
• If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage is required for all of them.
• If three major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage is required for two of them.
• Full compliance required to start on time.
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler.
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying.
