Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the General Surgery/Trauma unit on the night shift. The role involves administering medications, starting IVs, and performing treatments while ensuring adherence to physician orders and regulatory guidelines.

You will assess patient needs, interpret diagnostic tests, and participate in planning care with the nursing team to deliver safe, compassionate care for trauma and surgical patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate).
• Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• Provides quality patient care following physician orders and hospital policy.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and starts IVs.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests.
• Delivers primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Develops and documents Plan of Care with the nursing team.
• Collaborates with staff to maintain professional nursing standards.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain nursing standards
