Albany Medical Center is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse in General Surgery/Trauma-B3. The role focuses on compassionate patient care, collaboration with the nursing team, and adherence to policies and standards.

The RN will administer medications, start IVs, and interpret tests to guide care decisions. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of Med-Surg or Progressive Care experience, holds NYS RN licensure, and maintains BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate, or BSN degree.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1–3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organization and time-management.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and improvement tools.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers meds, starts IVs, and documents care.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
• Assesses patient needs and responses to care.
• Applies nursing judgment in care decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Administers OTC and prescription meds as ordered.
• Collaborates to plan care for all patients.
• Directs ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
