Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, seeks a Tool & Die Maker for the 3rd shift in Lafayette, GA. You will troubleshoot dies overnight, maintain stamping tooling, and perform CNC and EDM operations while meeting tight tolerances. The role emphasizes independent tooling decisions and hands-on problem solving.

Preferred candidates have 2+ years of die experience, blueprints literacy, and knowledge of GD&T. A retention bonus of $2,500 is offered to support onboarding and growth on the night shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Tool & Die experience.
• Experience with stamping dies (progressive/transfer preferred).
• Strong blueprint reading & die design interpretation.
• Manual machining + CNC proficiency.
• Ability to make independent tooling decisions.
• Bonus: SolidWorks/CAD, CNC programming, Tool & Die apprenticeship.
• 2+ years of Wire EDM machining experience in a manufacturing or tool & die environment.
• Experience with precision machining and tight tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• CAM programming or EDM machine controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead die troubleshooting and repair during overnight production.
• Maintain, inspect, and rebuild stamping dies and tooling.
• Perform surface grinding, manual machining, CNC work, and EDM operations.
• Fit, adjust, and align die components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct test runs to validate die performance.
• Document all PMs and repair activities.
• Partner with production to keep presses running efficiently.
