Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health is seeking a Surgical Technician for Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo in the 5 SW Labor & Delivery unit. This full-time night-shift role focuses on preparing the operating suite, instrument handling, and assisting physicians to ensure patient safety and efficient surgeries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; military training accepted.
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
• At least 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross) before start date; valid through 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensures equipment/instruments are in good working order; assists with patient prep, transport, positioning, and draping.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery; tracks instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Receives and processes specimens for laboratory delivery.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
