Job summary

DRISCOLL HEALTH PLAN is hiring a Surgical First Assistant to provide intraoperative support, preoperative and postoperative care, and to assist surgeons for safe operations in Corpus Christi, TX.

The role requires completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology First Assist Program, a high school diploma or GED, and preferred pediatric scrub tech experience. Schedule is night shift, full-time, on-site at the hospital facilities.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of accredited Surgical Technology First Assist Program or equivalent
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Pediatric scrub tech experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative tasks as directed
• Prepare the operating room and assist with positioning, prepping, and draping
• Maintain sterile field and safe environment for patient and staff
• Handle instruments and equipment to minimize damage
• Support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures
