Job summary

Brenntag is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring materials are offloaded, received, packaged, labeled, stored, staged, and loaded onto trucks. You will supervise a crew, perform regular safety checks, and manage shift handoffs while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

The role requires experience supervising in chemical manufacturing or distribution, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree in a related field a plus.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing/distribution or industrial environment required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership ability and ability to work as part of a team.
• Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities.
• Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.
• Working knowledge of chemical labeling, transferring, packaging, handling, and storage.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, DHS, EPA, FRA, ISO, and HSE regulations and laws.
• Ability to wear required PPE and operate plant equipment.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a crew of employees.
• Performs regular safety checks with crew and ensures safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Responsible for shift pass down and instructing the next staff on shift of incidents and workload.
• Responsible for packaging, filling, labeling, and storage of drums, totes, bags, and supersacks of chemicals or chemical blends.
• Loads and unloads trucks and operates a forklift.
• Follow all operating procedures and be familiar with the quality system manual.
• Communicates with Customer Service and Purchasing on delays, questions on orders, etc.
• Reports non-conformances using proper forms and escalates issues to Operations Manager.
• Performs dispatch, truck routing, and carrier contact duties.
• Attends safety and quality meetings and works in a safe manner.
