Job summary

Messer Construction Co. is seeking an experienced Superintendent for overnight operations in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on supervising field operations, driving schedules, and maintaining a safe work environment with LEAN planning and quality control.

You will coordinate subs, manage costs, and support project stakeholders while mentoring Messer staff. Strong leadership and construction tech knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience operating as a commercial construction Superintendent or equivalent.
• Advanced education or certifications in construction management.
• Strong leadership, organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of construction technologies and systems (AutoDesk Build, Procore, Phoenix).
• Experience with Lean construction processes and project management systems.

We are currently looking to add an experienced Superintendent to the team in our Charlotte, NC region. The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and coordinate field operations, driving projects to successful completion through a safe work environment, quality construction, effective LEAN planning & scheduling, cost management, collaboration with project stakeholders, and superior client service.

Night Shift Requirement: This position is dedicated to overnight construction operations. Typical working hours are approximately 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, though schedules may vary based on project requirements and operational needs.

What You Will Do:

• Implement & drive our Zero-Injury Safety program.
• Understand drawings, specifications, and terms/conditions of owner contracts and subcontracts.
• Deliver built-in quality using our three-phase quality control process.
• Develop andmaintainworksitelogistics.
• Drive project schedule including day to day supervision and coordination of construction activities.
• Facilitate daily Site-Wide Huddles and Plan of the Day Meetings
• Proactivelymonitor& control project costs
• Leverage construction management and project management systems
• Support the professional development and mentoring of Messer staff.
• Support the interviewing and hiring process, as needed.
• Perform other duties andresponsibilitiesas needed.

What You WillBring:

• 4+ years of experience operating as a commercial construction Superintendent, or in a directly comparable role required.
• Advanced education,trainingor certifications in construction management disciplines
• Demonstrable excellence in leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of contemporary construction technologies and systems (ex.AutoDeskBuild, Procore, Phoenix, etc.)
• Proven experienceutilizingcontemporary constructionprocessesand project management systems (e.g..LeanConstruction, Flow scheduling, 3-Phase Control,etc.)
• Proven experiencemaintainingcompliance with construction safety policies and standards.
• Experienceinterviewing and hiring, managing directreports,and supporting the performance management process.
