Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, prepare, sterilize and distribute sterile surgical instrumentation for the OR and other areas. The role supports high-level disinfection and tracking of instrument sets in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include assembling and processing instrument sets, troubleshooting sterilizers, documenting contents, and ensuring proper reassembly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instrument sets, trays, and supplies per schedules.
• Disassembles, cleans, inspects, tests functionality, and reassembles instrumentation.
• Operates sterilizers, builds case carts for just-in-time delivery to OR.
• Documents set contents and completion for all trays using the tracking system.
• Ensures cross-contamination avoidance during transport of case carts.
