Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the OR support team. You will sterilize, decontaminate, assemble instrument sets and support 65 operating rooms, in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth.

Full-time role with benefits, schedule Friday through Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm, safety-focused, and emphasis on teamwork with surgeons and nurses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience less than 2 years required.
• Certifications/licensure in area of expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot steam sterilizers to ensure tray readiness.
• Disassemble, decontaminate, and reassemble instrumental sets per protocol.
• Document tray contents and track sterilization cycles using the tracking system.
• Transport case carts and support sterile processing across operating rooms.
