Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Sterilization Technician to join its Sterile Processing Department in Omaha, NE. The role involves cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing instruments for multiple hospital areas, while following infection control policies and MSDS guidance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or General Educational Development preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: knowledge of decontamination and sterilization methods; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Sort, disassemble, clean, and disinfect contaminated instruments; use universal precautions and PPE.
• Prepare instrument sets/trays; verify completeness and accuracy via recipe sheets.
• Perform sterile linen processing and packaging as directed; maintain stock and records.
• Load/unload sterilization carts; operate sterilizers per policy and certify loads.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and instrument tracking; ensure timely delivery to OR/OPS.
• Perform UV cleaning of used equipment per established procedures.
