Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Central Service Technician to support the health care team by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, and transporting supplies. This full-time, night-shift role requires teamwork and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, training in central service, and/or CRCST certification, with a commitment to obtain

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Completion of Central Service Technician course of study or completion of healthcare organization training program; military training or experience satisfies this requirement for WA state employees, per Title 18 RCW.
In lieu of formal training, candidates with a nationally recognized certification (e.g., CRCST) and/or a minimum of one (1) year of recent sterile processing experience preferred.
Central Service Certification or commitment to obtain within one year of hire, as required by location.
Minimum one (1) year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The Central Service Technician cleans, sterilizes, packages instruments, maintains inventory, and transports supplies and equipment.
Works under supervision with routine tasks and a service-oriented mindset.
Interacts with patient care providers, Materials Management staff, vendors, and other health care facilities as needed.
