Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Central Processing Technician in Salt Lake City to ensure sterilization and handling of basic surgical instruments across the facility. You will disassemble, clean, reprocess, wrap, label, and sterilize instruments, maintaining strict records and inventory control.

Qualifications include High School Diploma and Central Processing Certification (HSPA) with potential Level 3 CER/CIS preferred.

Qualifications

• Must attain Central Processing Certification from HSPA within one year of hire date.
• Level 2-3 require certification from HSPA.
• CER or CIS certification through HSPA (Level 3) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, protect, wrap, peel pack, label and sterilize instruments.
• Print off a needs list and collect items for procedures.
• Issue sterile supplies to hospital areas and regional campuses.
• Perform inventory duties and communicate with providers and vendors.
