Service Desk Technician Sr (3rd Shift)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. ONSITE - Orange, CA
Duties & Responsibilities:
- 95% - Program Support
- Participates in a mission driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
- Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
- Assists in resolving technical computer operations equipment problems.
- Performs secure data wipes of PC's and laptops hard drives.
- Responds to user requests (e-tickets) for information and assists in problem resolution. Maintains contact with users on operational and production problems.
- Handles batch production and operational problems requiring individual judgment and latitude for independent action to solve these problems.
- Conducts deployment and recovery (including termination recovery) of PC system equipment, including but not limited to CPUs, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, phones, laptop docking stations and various connector cabling.
- Performs account management of desktop and conference phones in Avaya System manager, including position specific configurations (Standard, Hotel, Agent).
- Performs voice mail account management to create, reset or delete user accounts.
- Carries out Agent account maintenance via Avaya Contact Center including user account creation, skill set assignment and account deletions.
- Implements the installation and configuration of RightFax account settings including testing and recovery.
- Assists in the account setup, reset and troubleshooting of client tokens within the local Health Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Monitors and controls Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) files to ensure effective space utilization. Allocates storage space and deletes obsolete files. Checks and logs space availability during shifts.
- Identifies and resolves production problems involving disk allocation, device assignments, job streams for batch and runs schedules.
- Monitors Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF)/Main Distribution Frame (MDF) equipment rooms for proper environmental conditions and network equipment functionality.
- Monitors and responds to HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM), SolarWinds and various email alerts throughout the shift and escalates to appropriate personnel.
- Participates in system development activities and project tasks.
- Investigates and ensures resolution of all production processing problems for batch automation and report services. * Logs and documents data processing batch production issues.
- Conducts electronic transmission for batch: File transfer protocol (FTP) of data to the health network and various contracted vendors.
- Executes automation scripts; verifies data and storage location of data files.
- Coordinates the resolution of application and software system problems impacting production, assisting systems and programming personnel as requested.
- Corrects or carries out instructions to resolve system amends on production jobs.
- Ensures complete and accurate production turnovers to next shift. Advises shift personnel regarding production status.
- Monitors Commvault tape backups and prepares for off-site storage.
- Adds, manages and removes user/group mailboxes and specific Calendars in Microsoft Office 365.
- Reads production system output (sysout) and determines abend conditions.
- Adds, modifies and removes user or group Active Directory permissions (folders, groups, lists.)
- 5% - Other
- Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent PLUS 2 years of experience in data processing and/or computer operations required; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
- 1 year of experience in technical troubleshooting or support.
- Intermediate batch process experience.

- Develop rapport and establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and staff and external contacts at all levels and with diverse backgrounds.
