Principle Health Systems in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Part-Time Specimen Processor to accurately receive and accession specimens, perform data entry, and maintain proper documentation in a fast-paced lab setting.

The ideal candidate has strong computer skills, attention to detail, and can work well both independently and in a team. Prior accessioning experience is preferred but not required; new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills with data entry proficiency, ensuring speed and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
• New graduates or candidates with an interest in the medical or laboratory field encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accession specimens into the laboratory system with accuracy.
• Handle and process a high volume of biological specimens, including urine, blood, and stool.
• Troubleshoot specimens that do not meet laboratory acceptance criteria.
• Maintain contact with ordering clients or agencies for documentation corrections or prior-authorizations.
• Document and track specimens on hold and notify relevant parties.
• Maintain specimen storage area and perform quality control.
