Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a SPD Technician II for the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA. The role operates on the night shift and handles decontamination and distribution of reusable medical equipment within Sterile Processing.

The position offers a pay range of $28.44 to $32.31 per hour, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external hires in compliance with employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Orders, restocks, and decontaminates sterilization equipment and instruments; prepares tray instrumentation and packs case carts using aseptic techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of sterilization procedures; uses best practices to decontaminate equipment and ensure patient safety.
• Regularly collects dirty equipment; sorts, loads, and decontaminates equipment per policy.
• Ensures specialty carts are stocked and distributed promptly to optimize hospital resources.
• Documents sterilization procedures, tracking, and distribution; maintains maintenance and safety records.
• Participates in continuing education to reflect best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
