Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC is seeking a Slitter Operator for the night shift in Hickory, NC. The role involves setting up and operating slitting equipment, ensuring quality and safety, and maintaining records.

You will troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and train less experienced staff while adhering to shop floor procedures. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, good math and data-entry skills, and can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately, work independently, and be a team player.
• Excellent manual dexterity and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of production schedules, basic math skills, computer skills, and data entry.
• Ability to read length measurements, gauges and meters.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate slitter according to established procedures.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure finishing equipment is working correctly, troubleshoot, perform safety inspections and complete required documentation, initiate maintenance.
• Instruct trainees in all phases of slitter operation and record keeping.
• Read gauges and meters and record output results.
• Perform data-entry on SAP and keep production records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and apply S4 concepts to work cells.
